About acne scars
The diagnosis of acne scars treatment has strict criteria in medical.
This is closely related to chronic inflammation of the hair follicle sebaceous glands, and four major factors: androgen levels, excessive sebum secretion, abnormal keratinization of the hair follicle opening, and the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes.

Laser technology treatment
Precisely stimulating collagen to initiate skin remodeling,laser therapy are common methods for acne scar repair.
For example,CO₂ fractional laser utilize specific wavelengths of light energy absorbed by the moisture in the skin tissue, generating heat.
This creates a minimally invasive ablative zone while simultaneously stimulating collagen regeneration and remodeling in the dermis.
Althougt this technique is considered an important reference method for treating atrophic scars, it often results in post-treatment erythema, edema, and crusting, leading to a relatively long recovery period.
Beside, non-ablative fractional lasers (1440 nm, 1540 nm, and 1550 nm) can penetrate to the dermis while preserving the integrity of the epidermis, resulting in milder side effects and a shorter recovery time.
However, their clinical efficacy is relatively mild, and deeper ice pick or boxcar scars often require longer treatment.
RF microneedling treatment for acne scars
Radiofrequency technology utilizes electrodes to generate a thermal effect via electric current at a predetermined depth within the dermis,
promoting the production of collagen and elastic fibers and thereby reducing the appearance of acne scars.
This acne scars treatment entails minimal discomfort and a short recovery period, though multiple treatment are usually required to achieve obvious results.
Dermal fillers in the treatment of acne Scars
Tissue filler therapies primarily target issues of skin tissue volume loss.
Commonly used filler materials include hyaluronic acid, autologous fat, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA).
These therapies mainly involve injecting the filler into the depressed areas using a mesotherapy gun,
while simultaneously stimulating collagen regeneration to some extent, helping the skin regain a smooth appearance.
Photodynamic therapy (PDT)
After exposure to specific wavelengths of red light (630nm) or blue light (415nm), a topical photosensitizer is activated, triggering a photochemical reaction.
This reaction inhibits sebum secretion, kills Propionibacterium acnes, modulates the immune system, improves sebaceous duct keratinization, and prevents or reduces acne scarring.
PDT therapy can be used as an alternative for moderate to severe acne when medication treatment has failed or is intolerable to the patient.

Regarding the four methods mentioned above
For stubborn acne scars left after acne has subsided,laser treatment can be chosen to accelerate pigment metabolism;
For existing pitted acne scars that cannot be improved by skincare products, a fully ablative CO₂ fractional laser is needed to stimulate collagen remodeling and fill the pits.
Generally, 3-5 treatments are required to achieve the desired results.
Dermal Fillers treatment is only suitable when acne has completely subsided, leaving only acne scars, pigmentation, or hypertrophic scars.
